Meeting at the Ministry of Energy to Review Water Stations Survey Results and Launch the Unified Digital Platform
A coordination meeting was held at the Ministry of Energy, chaired by Eng. Osama Abu Zeid, Deputy Minister of Energy for Water and Electricity Affairs, with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Bassam Darwish, Director of the Electricity Sector Regulatory Administration; Eng. Abdul Karim Al-Jaafar, Director of the Directorate of Technology and Digital Transformation; Mr. Firas Kurdoush, Director of the International Cooperation Office; and a team from the Assistance Coordination Unit (ACU).
During the meeting, participants reviewed the final outcomes of the Drinking Water and Wastewater Stations Survey in Syria, as well as the newly developed digital platform designed to display and manage the collected data, providing a centralized database to support monitoring, analysis, and decision-making.
The presentation included interactive dashboards, digital maps, and analytical indicators based on data collected from all governorates. The information covered the technical and operational status of drinking water and wastewater stations, electricity and energy supply sources, production volumes, design capacities, beneficiary populations, and assessments of infrastructure conditions and station readiness.
The participants emphasized the importance of the digital platform in unifying and continuously updating sector data, thereby strengthening strategic planning, identifying rehabilitation and investment priorities, and supporting data-driven decision-making. They noted that these efforts will contribute to improving the quality and sustainability of drinking water and wastewater services across the Syrian Arab Republic.
