We are the primary reference point for formulating national energy policies, regulating and investing in natural resources, and ensuring the efficient and reliable provision of energy services to all segments of society and economic sectors. Mohammed Al-Bashir, born in 1983 in Jabal al-Zawiya, is a prominent Syrian engineer and politician who has served as Minister of Energy in Ahmed Al-Sharaa’s government since March 29, 2025.
Al-Bashir has extensive experience in government and political affairs. He previously served as Prime Minister from December 10, 2024, in the transitional government formed following the fall of President Bashar Al-Assad’s regime. He remained in this position until his appointment as Minister of Energy, making him one of the key figures in leading the state during the political transition.
Prior to that, Mohammed Al-Bashir served as Prime Minister of the Syrian Salvation Government from January 13, 2024, until his appointment as head of the transitional government. During this period, he gained extensive experience in managing government affairs and national policies and contributed to coordinating government efforts to address the political, economic, and security challenges facing the country.
Al-Bashir is known for combining his engineering background with extensive knowledge of political and administrative affairs, enabling him to play an active role in developing government programs and supporting the stability of vital state sectors, particularly the energy sector, which he currently oversees.
