Gradually increasing the volume of water released from the Kediran Dam from 1,000 to 1,200 cubic meters per second.

Due to the continued high volume of water flowing into the Euphrates River from the Turkish side, the General Establishment for the Euphrates Dam will begin a gradual and carefully managed increase in the volume of water released from the Kediran Dam. The flow rate will reach 1,100 cubic meters per second on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, and will be further increased to 1,200 cubic meters per second one week later.
This flow rate of 1,200 cubic meters per second will be maintained until mid-October, at which point the water situation will be re-evaluated based on inflow trends, reservoir levels, and technical and operational data.
Technical and engineering teams are monitoring water inflows and reservoir levels around the clock, in coordination with the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Disaster Management, as well as emergency operations centers in the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor governorates.
The Ministry of Energy urges residents of the Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor governorates—particularly those living near the Euphrates River—to exercise heightened caution. Residents are advised to stay away from the river channel, refrain from swimming in the river during this period of increased flow, and exercise care when using temporary bridges across the Euphrates, given the potential for rising water levels and increased flow velocity, in the interest of public safety.
