1. Minister of Energy Eng. Mohammad Al-Bashir conducted an inspection tour of vocational schools and petroleum technical institutes in Homs Governorate to monitor examinations and assess facilities and services. He emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to developing these institutions as centers of excellence for training qualified professionals for the oil sector.
2. A delegation from the Ministry of Energy, headed by Deputy Minister Eng. Osama Abu Zeid, held technical talks with Iraqi officials to strengthen cooperation in water resource management, dam operation, data exchange, and capacity building between the two countries.
3. The Permanent Committee for Petroleum Products Pricing held an extraordinary meeting to review fuel prices and approved new prices in Syrian pounds: gasoline, diesel, and domestic and industrial gas cylinders. The committee stressed that prices will be reviewed periodically in line with economic and technical developments.
4. The General Establishment of Geology and Mineral Resources received an Emirati delegation to discuss investment opportunities in mining, railway development, geological surveys, and joint projects. Separately, representatives of the Oil and Chemical Workers’ Union met officials from the Syrian Petroleum Company to discuss labor affairs and organizational issues.
5. The General Organization of the Euphrates Dam hosted a delegation from the Syria Recovery Trust Fund to discuss support for rehabilitating dam infrastructure and hydropower facilities, improving operational readiness, and strengthening cooperation on future projects.
6. The Hama Water and Sanitation Company reopened the Al-Sayyad water station in northern Hama in cooperation with Islamic Relief. The project included modern pumping systems and a solar power installation of 210 panels, benefiting more than 12,000 residents.
7. The Deir ez-Zor Water and Sanitation Company launched a project, in cooperation with UNICEF, to rehabilitate and replace sewage networks in Al-Mayadeen. The project includes the construction of major sewage lines serving approximately 175,000 people.
8. Damascus Countryside Electricity Company completed the installation and replacement of four electrical transformers in several areas to meet increasing electricity demand.
9. Syrian Petroleum Company teams continued work on preparing the Al-Sabihan station in the Al-Omar field. Once operational, the station is expected to improve oil quality, reduce operating costs, limit environmental pollution, and enhance production efficiency.
10. An expanded meeting was held at Baniyas Refinery to review refinery operations and preparations for the comprehensive maintenance scheduled for summer 2026, with the aim of restoring production capacity to 130,000 barrels per day.
11. The Homs Water and Sanitation Company, in coordination with Homs Electricity Company, installed two electrical transformers in the Al-Ami wells area in Palmyra, enabling the operation of four additional wells and improving water services for around 10,000 residents.
