A trilateral ministerial meeting was held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, bringing together the Ministers of Energy of Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon to discuss strengthening cooperation in natural gas and electricity, as well as developing regional interconnection projects.
Syrian Minister of Energy Eng. Mohammad Al-Bashir stated that the joint efforts had contributed to rehabilitating sections of the Arab Gas Pipeline and enabling the import of gas through Jordan. This has helped stabilize Syria’s electricity grid and improve power supply.
He added that work is ongoing to complete the regional electricity interconnection project, noting that four interconnection lines with Lebanon are ready, while rehabilitation of the interconnection lines with Jordan is progressing in preparation for the implementation phase.
Jordanian Minister of Energy Saleh Al-Kharabsheh stated that the technical studies have reached advanced stages and that cooperation includes importing gas from global markets through Jordan, regasifying it, and transporting it to Syria via the Arab Gas Pipeline, while similar arrangements are being prepared for Lebanon.
Lebanese Minister of Energy Joseph Saddi emphasized that trilateral cooperation represents a strategic option to support Lebanon’s energy sector.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the ministers stressed the importance of continuing technical coordination to complete implementation requirements and strengthen the security and stability of energy supplies in the three countries.

The Ministry of Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the international humanitarian organization GOAL to support Syria’s water and sanitation sectors and enhance sustainable recovery efforts.
The memorandum focuses on expanding cooperation in humanitarian and development projects across various governorates according to local needs, including:
Developing water infrastructure.
Supplying pumping stations with solar energy.
Monitoring groundwater levels.
Improving sanitation services and wastewater treatment.
Enhancing basic services and strengthening community resilience.
Supporting institutional sustainability by training and building the capacities of Ministry of Energy staff and Water Directorate personnel to ensure more efficient operation and maintenance.

In response to the needs of farmers in Daraa Governorate, the Water Resources Directorate has launched supplementary irrigation cycles in potato-growing areas, covering approximately 1,500 dunums on the Tseel irrigation network and about 800 dunums on the Ghadeer Al-Bustan Dam network. Irrigation has also been provided to approximately 1,000 dunums of fruit orchards across the governorate.
The summer irrigation plan was also revised in coordination with the Water Resources Directorate in Quneitra Governorate, as a significant portion of its dam networks (Kodna and Al-Raqqad) lies within Daraa Governorate. The revised plan now covers approximately 800 hectares of summer crops and 580 hectares of orchards through the governorate’s dam networks (Tseel, Western Tafas, Adwan, Al-Raqqad, and Ghadeer Al-Bustan).
According to Daraa Water Resources Director Eng. Hani Abdullah, water is distributed based on farmers’ requested irrigation periods, in coordination with the Directorate’s technical teams managing the water resources (dams) and the operational irrigation networks. In areas where dam networks are out of service, previously established collection pits are utilized.

Rehabilitation works continue on the 66 kV electricity transmission line connecting the Al-Darbasiyah and Ras Al-Ain substations in the countryside of Al-Hasakah Governorate, as part of efforts to strengthen the region’s critical infrastructure.
The project aims to ensure a stable electricity supply to the Allouk Water Station, the primary source of drinking water in Al-Hasakah Governorate, thereby improving essential services for local residents.

The Homs Water Resources Directorate has completed maintenance and rehabilitation works on the Tal Housh Irrigation Project to improve the efficiency and operational readiness of the irrigation system in support of the agricultural sector.
The works included comprehensive mechanical maintenance, the fabrication and installation of metal gates to control the main pipelines, and the installation of modern flow regulators to optimize water distribution across the network.
Following completion of the technical procedures and coordination with the Tartous Water Resources Directorate, water pumping has officially commenced to irrigate approximately 6,000 hectares of agricultural land, supporting farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity in the area.
The Raqqa Electricity Company also announced the restoration of electricity supply to Tal Abyad and its northern countryside as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the power sector throughout the governorate and enhance grid stability.
The works included reactivating 66 kV high-voltage lines and 20 kV medium-voltage lines and bringing them back into service to restore electricity supply. Power has also been distributed to urban and rural substations following the rehabilitation of damaged transmission lines.
Technical teams have begun constructing medium-voltage distribution lines for newly expanded neighborhoods within Raqqa City. The works are expected to be completed within 15 days, after which the associated transformer stations will be commissioned to improve electricity access in these areas.
6.
The Syrian Petroleum Company announced that it has increased the number of Iraqi fuel tankers unloaded daily at the Banias Refinery to approximately 500 tankers, as part of efforts to enhance operational readiness and accelerate fuel supply.
This was achieved through technical and engineering improvements that increased operational capacity by 30% and saved approximately 40 working hours.
The improvements resulted from optimizing unloading routes and enabling direct pumping into designated storage tanks, thereby increasing operational efficiency and ensuring a more reliable supply of petroleum products to the domestic market.

The General Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Quneitra Governorate, in cooperation with the Emirates International Charity Organization, has completed the drilling, equipping, and commissioning of the Jabal Abu Al-Atta well in Al-Wafideen Camp, Rural Damascus.
The project aims to provide a sustainable source of drinking water for camp residents through the construction of a 300-meter-deep well, lined with steel casings over a depth of 270 meters. It also includes the installation of a modern submersible pump, electrical cables, and a solar power system consisting of 50 solar panels to ensure reliable operation and uninterrupted water pumping under various weather conditions.
The project is expected to benefit approximately 35,000 people.
